Partner Pulse – June 22

29/08/2022On Wednesday 6th July we are holding one of our quarterly events for all employees of Ultima Group. With lots of Team Ultima being hybrid or remote workers as well as many new faces including our new Social Engineering team, getting everyone together to build the workplace relationships is more important than ever. Each quarter our employee events are based on our internal marketing theme, this months being our Charity Month.
We are excited to be organising our first fundraising events for our new charity partners Berkshire Women’s Aid and Reading Samaritans as part of our charity day at our head office. Our employees have lots to look forward to including:
Sponsored Cycle
Departments across the business will be taking part in, and sponsoring our charity cycle on our wellness bikes. We will have 2 bikes on the go at once with the goal of cycling round The Isle Of Wight. Every 15 minutes we will be swapping round volunteers as a team effort to reach our goal. We will also be marking down distances for the competitive team members!
Take an F1 car around Silverstone
We are challenging employees to try our eSports racing simulator to find out! For every £5 donation, each driver gets 3 timed laps around one of the fastest circuits on the Formula 1 racing calendar to try and set the fastest time on our leaderboard. The top 3 drivers will go into a prize draw!
Charity Talks
We are delighted to have both our charities in for a lunch and learn session to talk employees through how the charities started, their goals and how we will be working together to support them.
At the end of the day we will be celebrating at our bar and toasting everyone’s efforts to support our charities. If you would like to donate please find the links and QR codes below. Every little helps, we appreciate anything people can give towards our causes!
Ultima’s Berkshire Women’s Aid Partnership
Ultima are also supporting Reading Samaritans who provide advice, support and awareness for mental health 24 hours a day. Over the next year we will be campaigning to raise awareness and promote the understanding of this important cause through a series of fundraising activities and events. Every 10 seconds, Samaritans responds to a call for help – and we will be supporting them in being there for every single one. We will be utilising our volunteering days to give our time to this charity that is completely run by volunteers.

Ultima’s Reading Samaritans Partnership
In addition to raising mental health awareness in the wider community, Ultima are constantly looking for new ways to boost our employees’ wellbeing and provide support. This month, we are running a series of wellbeing workshops during our Mental Health and Wellbeing month throughout May that focused on several key issues including destigmatising mental health and how it links to physical health. Also, we are in the process of training additional Mental Health champions within the business who will work alongside our HR team to create a positive mental health work experience and provide a friendly face to those in need.
