Enhanced:
Automated VM Patching
Managed Cloud offers an enhanced automated patching solution for VMs, orchestrated through automation. This service caters for groups of Azure VMs based on their environment usage, such as non-production and production, as well as patching needs ranging from full patching to just critical/security patching only.
Customers can select from patching windows that work for them, and is powered by tagging your VMs as instructed. The automation of our service takes care of the rest.
Backup Safety Net
Our enhanced Managed Cloud service optionally offers a backup “safety net” feature, built specifically by Ultima.
Every 24 hours, Our service will scan Azure VMs to check whether they are being backed up. If they are not, Managed Cloud’s underlying automation will automatically back up Azure VMs in this scenario as a “safety net” should anything happen to that Azure VM.
This will be aligned to an Azure recovery services vault within the Azure subscription, with a minimally viable retention of 30 days.
Break-glass Jumpbox
Sometimes a jumpbox can be useful to get onto the Azure environment for troubleshooting within the OS layer or as a last resort if no other means are available – a break glass solution.
Through automation, our Managed Cloud service offers this enhancement by providing the ability to deploy a secured web-based jumpbox and all the ancillaries if and when required, including secured credential management for it.
Because we enhance this with automation, it’s designed with minimal operational costs in mind.
